The first scholarly account of the English conquest of Wales to be published for 100 years is now available. The book provides insights into the character of the chief protagonists with an analysis of the the strategy and tactics of the opposing armies. This leads to a re-assessment of the period following the conquest. The author, Dr Sean Davies, is a recognised expert on war and society in medieval Wales and for 12 years was a BBC journalist.
